Start with your situation and mission
Use the current instructions for the mission serving your residential address. The references below are for the named offices and routes; do not assume their checklist applies to every address in Canada. Confirm jurisdiction, citizenship eligibility, passport type and the current application route before preparing documents.
Documents you need — by application route
Use the packet for your situation. Supplementary lists add to the applicable core records. “Not specified” does not mean a requirement can never be added by the mission.

Need help with a listed document?
Notaryspace is at 6700 Century Avenue, 3rd Floor, Suite 318, Mississauga. Send the mission’s request so we can confirm the required service and total fee. Passport processing remains with the issuing authority.
Where a notary or consular step may fit
- The published checklist uses an under-21 parental-document threshold.
- Its date is older; confirm current forms and charges with the mission before submission.
This reviewed packet applies to the route named in the table. Different ages, lost passports and changes of personal details can require another procedure.
Prepare the application records
- Use the official application and appointment process linked below.
- Check the document table for the named application route and keep originals available where requested.
- Check current fees, delivery and any special-case instructions with the issuing service.
Routine renewal and special cases are different
Explain whether the passport is expiring, lost or damaged, or whether a name or other detail is changing. For a child, ask about age-specific forms, parental authority, consent, custody records and attendance. Check current photographs, official fees, payment methods and delivery instructions directly with the mission. No processing-time guarantee is given by this guide.
Arrange only the document service you need
If a written instruction calls for a notarial act, provide the exact document and wording to our office before booking. Leave applicable witnessed signatures and official certification blank until instructed. Do not replace a mission’s prescribed form with an IRCC form or a generic letter. A local appointment does not issue the passport or replace a consular appointment.

Official sources and forms
These links are the source of the guidance, not a substitute for confirming the current instructions for your application. Official forms remain on the authority’s website.
Keep a preparation checklist
Our renewal checklist tool helps you organize questions and next steps. You can check off tasks, download a copy or print it. It requests no passport number or identity upload and does not submit an application. Keep your completed official documents separately and follow the authority’s submission instructions.
